Cryptocurrencies have become a recent hot topic, and as news spread of the many overnight millionaires that have resulted, many ordinary citizens have rushed to get in on the action, often with little or no clue of what they are doing. The 5th game in their series of Financial Education games, Capital Gains Studio’s Cryptocurrency hopes to arm their players with some basic knowledge about the topic so they have a sense of what they may be getting into.

Now being funded on Kickstarter (ends Wed 18 Oct), Debtzilla is a strategic deckbuilding game designed by Singapore-based Capital Gains Studio where 2 – 4 players have to work together to beat monsters of mass financial destruction. In Debtzilla, players take on the roles of superheroes such as Angie Merkling, otherwise known as Iron Girl, to work and earn enough to help fight villains and monsters.

Avertigos – A 3D Boardgame with Flying Ships

Now being funded on Kickstarter (ends Sun Sept 24), Avertigos is a tabletop miniature and board game hybrid that involves some 3D elements. 2-5 players are inserted into an alternate history of our world where 2 factions, the Dynastic naval armada and the Singasari League, fight for control of the South China sky using ships. The game is being done by Playware Hobbies, a local Singapore company. Currently, the game has two game modes: Skirmish and Strategy.

Tabletop Review – The Walking Dead

Good day everyone! This is the Lion City Geek crew, Bryan, Eze and Russell. We’re here to talk to you guys about a new game taught to us by Ben from Blitz and Peaces, and we’re very excited to tell you how we feel about it!

So some of you might have known about this, but fairly recently, Mantic games did a board game based on the hit comic and drama series The Walking Dead. For those who don’t follow the series, it’s basically about a group of survivors trying to survive the zombie, or more correctly known in the series as “walkers”, apocalypse. They are trying to find ways to live their lives as best as they can but they find out that the most dangerous things aren’t the dead but other humans and themselves.
